About Our Association

The Frankfurt Tour Guide Association has around 100 qualified members who showcase Frankfurt am Main with expertise, enthusiasm and passion.

Our members come from a wide range of professional backgrounds and offer diverse language skills and areas of expertise. Together, we are committed to maintaining high standards of quality in guided tours, promoting continuous professional development, and sharing the history, culture and contemporary life of our city in an engaging and professional way.

As a professional association, we have been promoting the exchange of knowledge and experience among Frankfurt’s tour guides for many years and regularly organise training and professional development opportunities. We also represent the interests of Frankfurt’s tour guides in dealings with institutions, partners and other professional associations.

Current Board of Directors

The Frankfurt Tour Guide Association is run on a voluntary basis by elected members.

Our aim is to continuously develop and strengthen our association for the benefit of all members, while fostering exchange and collaboration within Frankfurt’s tour guide community.

Bettina Buggle | Chairwoman

Bettina Buggle describes herself as a “typical Frankfurt local” – she wasn’t born here, but moved to the city more than 30 years ago for work and has never left.

Since 2004, she has been giving talks on the history and culture of Frankfurt, initially as a volunteer at various cultural institutions and, since 2019, as a trained and certified city tour guide.

What fascinates her most are the stories beneath the surface of the cityscape: the people and the stories that have shaped Frankfurt, both in the past and today.
